THREE INMATES REARRESTED AFTER ESCAPING FROM THE FEDERAL MEDIUM CORRECTIONAL FACILITY IN KOTON-KARFE 25-03-25
By Sadiq Aminu Three inmates are said to have been rearrested so far after escaping from the Federal Medium Correctional facility in Koton-karfe, headquarters of Kogi LGA.
According to reports, twelve inmates had in the early hours of today escaped from the centre without causing any serious damage to the facility.
Latest reports indicated that 3 of the inmates have been captured within the neighborhoods as search continues for the remaining escapees.
Though, no official statement has been released by the Nigeria Correctional Service on the recaptured inmates as at the time of reporting, Kogi State government described the jailbreak as an unfortunate incident.
The state Commissioner for information, Kingsley Fanwo in a statement called for a thorough investigation into the incident to prevent future occurrences, and identify any internal or external collaborators who may have facilitated the breach.
