HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES REVERSES IT’S DECISION TO REMOVE IMMUNITY FOR VICE PRESIDENT, GOVERNORS AND DEPUTY GOVERNORS                                                                                             27-03-25

By Sadiq Aminu                                                       The House of Representatives has reversed its decision to strip off the Vice President, governors, and deputy governors of immunity.

The reversal came after the House Leader, Julius Ihonvbere, moved a motion to reconsider the earlier decision.

The original bill, sponsored by Solomon Bob, sought to promote accountability in public office by removing the immunity currently granted to the Vice President, governors, and their deputies.

However, the House has now decided to allow further debate and scrutiny of the proposed amendment.
