WE’RE WORKING ON SECURING RELEASE OF KIDNAPPED OFFA TRAVELLERS – KWARA GOVT                                                                                 03-05-25

By Sadiq Aminu                                                         The Kwara State Government has said efforts are ongoing to secure the release of seven men and women recently kidnapped at Osi and Obbo Ajegunle, in Ekiti Local Government Area of the State.

The Senior Special Assistant on Security, to the State Governor, Muhydeen Aliyu disclosed this in an interview with Africa 247 in Ilorin.

Mr Aliyu was reacting to the recent appeal made by representatives of the families of the kidnapped victims who expressed concern that their family members were still being held captive, while the two persons kidnapped afterwards, had been released.

The Senior Special Assistant on Security to the State Governor, affirmed that government was working tirelessly to secure the release of the kidnapped victims who had been held for about fifteen days now.

They were accosted on their way from Abuja to Offa in Kwara State.

Earlier, representatives of the victims’ families had appealed to relevant authorities to assist them in the release of their family members.

They expressed worry that their family members were still being held captive while the two persons kidnapped afterwards, had been released.

The families explained that they had been in agony since the incidence due to worry and sleepless nights.
