Bayero University Kano (BUK) has earned full accreditation from the National Universities Commission (NUC) for 53 academic programs, encompassing both undergraduate and postgraduate offerings across multiple faculties.

The announcement was made in a statement signed by the University Registrar, Haruna Aliyu, and shared with the media. The accreditation exercise took place in October and November 2024.

According to the statement, the accredited programs span disciplines such as Administration, Agriculture, Allied Health Sciences, Arts, Computing, Education, Engineering, Medicine, Pharmacy, Science, and Social Sciences.

“This remarkable achievement underscores the University’s steadfast commitment to academic excellence and quality assurance,” Aliyu noted.

He emphasized that the successful accreditation outcome reflects years of strategic investment in faculty development, infrastructure, curriculum enhancement, and research innovation. “It is a strong validation of our mission to establish Bayero University Kano as a leading institution of higher learning in Nigeria and beyond,” he added.

The full accreditation status is valid for five years, ensuring that all 53 programs meet NUC standards. It also affirms that students enrolled in these programs are receiving education that is nationally recognized and meets the requirements for employment, further studies, and national service.

The university management expressed appreciation to the dedicated faculty, administrative staff, and students whose efforts contributed to this success.

“We remain committed to continuous improvement and to advancing excellence in teaching, research, and community engagement,” the statement concluded. “We welcome prospective students, parents, and academic partners to celebrate this milestone with us and to support our pursuit of knowledge and innovation.”
