FG COMMITTED TO REVITALIZING UNITY SCHOOLS NATIONWIDE                                                                           16-05-25

By Sadiq Aminu                                                        The Federal Government has reaffirmed its commitment to revitalizing Unity Schools across the country.

The Minister of State for Education, prof. Suwaiba Said Ahmad, made this known during an inspection visit to Federal Government College, Kano.

During the visit, the Minister interacted with teachers and students to assess the teaching and learning process and ensure effective service delivery.

She emphasized that the visit would pave the way for robust interaction between policymakers and the school to understand their challenges and provide necessary facilities.

Prof. Suwaiba Said Ahmad explained that the Federal Government is committed to providing quality education and teacher capacity building training to achieve set objectives.

She disclosed that the Federal Ministry of Education is developing a digital platform for teacher training, which will be available to all teachers nationwide.

“The development of a digital platform for teacher training is expected to enhance teacher capacity and improve the quality of education in Unity Schools. This initiative will enable teachers to access training and resources, regardless of their location, and equip them with the skills needed to deliver quality education.”

The Minister revealed that over N80 billion has been budgeted for the renovation of over 100 Unity Schools across the country.

“The renovation of Unity Schools will provide students with modern facilities and a conducive learning environment, enabling them to achieve their full potential”

“This significant investment aims to improve the infrastructure and facilities in these schools, enhancing the learning environment for students.”

The Minister also paid an inspection visit to Federal Government Girls College, Kazaure, demonstrating the government’s commitment to ensuring quality education in all Unity Schools.

She added the visits are part of the government’s efforts to revitalize the Unity Schools system and provide students with a conducive learning environment.
