ADAMAWA: AGRICULTURE MINISTRY, RHI EDUCATE STUDENTS ON FARMING                                                              21-05-25

By Sadiq Aminu                                                         The Federal Ministry of Agriculture, in collaboration with the Renewed Hope Initiative and office of the wife of the Adamawa State Governor, Hajiya Lami Fintiri, has organized a two-day workshop aimed at educating students and empowering youths on modern agricultural techniques.

The event, which included the distribution of farming inputs and livelihood support items, focused on raising awareness among students about the importance of agriculture and equipping them with practical knowledge to contribute to food security and economic development.

Lectures were delivered by Meldin Tarfa and Dishi Khobe, representatives from the Federal Ministry of Agriculture, who spoke on key topics such as sustainable farming practices, agro-processing, and agribusiness opportunities.

The programmes, which included an interactive session was designed to trigger interest in agriculture among the younger generation and encourage them to see farming as a viable career path.

In her remarks, Wife of the Adamawa state governor, Hajiya Lami Fintiri represented by the Commissioner Women Affairs, Mrs Neido kufolto emphasized the importance of engaging young people early in agricultural education, noting that it aligns with the broader goals of the Renewed Hope Agenda to empower communities, reduce poverty, and secure the nation’s food systems.

Students who participated in the program expressed excitement about the knowledge gained, describing the experience as eye-opening and timely.

Officials from the ministry reiterated their commitment to supporting initiatives that build capacity and promote agricultural innovation at the grassroots level.
