PRESIDENT TINUBU CONDEMNS SERIES OF DEADLY ATTACKS IN SOME STATES, VOWS SWIFT JUSTICE                                                                                                22-06-25

By Sadiq Aminu                                                      President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has expressed sorrow and outrage following a recent string of violent incidents in Borno, Plateau, and Kano States.

In a statement on his X handle, the President describes the suicide bombing in Borno State to the lynching in innocent travellers in Plateau State, and the fatal explosion in Kano as unacceptable.

He vows that the perpetrators will be brought to justice, warning that the government will not relent in its duty to protect lives.

President Tinubu calls the attack in Konduga town in Borno State a cowardly act, saying that he has directed the National Emergency Management Agency, NEMA, to provide immediate assistance to the survivors.

“I extend my deepest condolences to the Government and people of Borno State”, he sympathises.

The President urges the military and other security agencies to intensify their efforts against Boko Haram.

“We must rout the remnants of this terror group and stop them from using soft targets to spread panic”, he maintains.

He says equally disturbing was the lynching of 12 wedding guests in Plateau State.

Describing the incident as barbaric, the President orders the Nigerian Police Force to co-ordinate with other security and intelligence services to swiftly apprehend the killers.

“These killings must not go unanswered. The Plateau State Government must act decisively to break this cycle of violence and ensure justice is served”, the President declares.

President Tinubu reaffirms the fundamental rights of Nigerians, especially the freedom of movement, saying it must never be threatened by fear or violence.

“Freedom of movement is non-negotiable. We will not tolerate any group or individual attempting to curtail that right through acts of terror or intimidation”, he warns.

The President also addresses a deadly explosion at a scrap metal facility in Kano that claimed five lives.

Offering his sympathies to the families of the victims, he highlights the need for improved workplace safety measures.

“This incident underscores the urgent need for stricter enforcement of safety protocols. I have directed relevant agencies to investigate the cause and ensure such a tragedy does not happen again,” he states.

The President says he stands with people of the affected States in their grief, assuring that the government will not relent until justice is done and peace and safety are restored.
