PRESIDENT TINUBU COMMISSIONS 15KM A2 TO PAI ROAD, PLEDGES MORE RURAL DEVELOPMENT 24-06-25
By Sadiq Aminu President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has officially commissioned the newly constructed 15-kilometre A2 to Pai Road in the Kwali Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), reaffirming his administration’s commitment to rural development and national integration.
Speaking at the ceremony, President Tinubu emphasized the strategic importance of the road in unlocking agricultural and economic opportunities for rural communities.
The President praised the efforts of the Minister of the FCT, Barrister Nyesom Wike, and his team for prioritizing infrastructure in underserved areas.
“Nigeria will not forget what you are doing for the development of this nation. Thank you very much.
“On our way here, we saw opportunities, prosperity, and the urgent need to establish ranches and uplift the lives of our rural people,” Tinubu noted. “A leader like Nyesom Wike is doing a wonderful job, thinking about the people and the nation he represents.”
President Tinubu described the newly completed road project as both symbolic and strategic, noting that it would serve as a vital corridor for agriculture, commerce, education, mobility, and national cohesion.
“This project is one of many we are delivering across the country, and we will not stop until every Nigerian can feel the touch of meaningful governance,” Tinubu said.
The President acknowledged the challenges rural communities like Pai have long faced due to poor infrastructure and isolation. He said the commissioning of this road marked a turning point in the narrative of neglect and marginalization.
He commended the contractors for delivering a high-quality road that would serve generations to come, and urged the Pai community to take ownership of the project.
“To the people of Pai, this is your road. Guard it, maintain it, and use it to the fullest. Let it be a pathway to growth and a bridge to a better life for the youth, farmers, traders, and students,” he said.
President Tinubu also called for collaboration with livestock owners and local farmers to establish grazing areas and ranches that would help curb conflicts and transform liabilities into economic opportunities.
Earlier in his remarks, the FCT Minister, Dr. Nyesom Wike, noted that with the support of President Tinubu, the FCT Administration had successfully constructed and commissioned over 150 kilometres of rural roads across the six area councils.
The FCT Minister reiterated the administration’s resolve to continue investing in infrastructure under the Renewed Hope Agenda, with the aim of transforming the FCT into a globally competitive capital city.
The event drew the participation of FCT officials, traditional rulers, community leaders, and residents, who lauded the government’s intervention in the area.
