APC FIXES JULY 24 FOR NEC MEETING TO REPLACE GANDUJE 02-07-25
By Sadiq Aminu The National Working Committee (NWC) of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has fixed the July 24th as National Executive Council (NEC) meeting to nominate a new National Chairman for the party.
Addressing newsmen after an emergency meeting of the NWC at the party’s national secretariat, the Deputy National Secretary, Barrister Festus Fuanter, said the meeting will afford the party to nominate a fresh Chairman for the party.
He stated that a notice for the NEC meeting has already forwarded to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
“As you are aware the National Executive Committee NEC, is the apex body of the party, so whatever it is that we do now including the endorsement of the National Chairman must also receive the blessings of the NEC.
“During the meeting, if they so desire that a new chairman is nominated, we would also accept such nomination and then wait for the conversation where the final position of the party would be made as far as the substantive chairman is concerned.
He added that other issues discussed at the NWC included preparations for bye-elections in some of the states where members of the National and state Assemblies have died or resigned.
