KANO POLICE LAUNCH “OPERATION KUKAN KURA,” ARRESTS 98 SUSPECTS……….

The Kano State Police Command has recorded major breakthroughs in its renewed efforts to tackle crime across the state, following the launch of a special operation tagged “Operation Kukan Kura.”
The Commissioner of Police, CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, disclosed this during a press briefing held at the Bompai Police Headquarters in Kano. He explained that the operation, launched on July 1, 2025, is aimed at proactively addressing crimes such as thuggery, banditry, kidnapping, drug trafficking, and other social vices.
According to CP Bakori, the operation has already yielded significant results, with 98 suspects arrested in connection with 21 major cases, including armed robbery, drug dealing, theft, and fraud. He said several exhibits were recovered during the raids, including vehicles, motorcycles, tricycles, illicit drugs, dangerous weapons, counterfeit currency, and other incriminating items.
The Commissioner assured the public that the Command remains committed to ensuring the safety and security of lives and property in the state. He added that Operation Kukan Kura has now been integrated into the Command’s broader strategy, which includes intelligence-driven raids, visible patrols, and community policing initiatives.
