POLICE NEUTRALIZE SUSPECT, RESCUE KIDNAP VICTIM IN ANAMBRA……..

A joint security team led by the police has neutralized a suspected armed hoodlum and rescued a 26-year-old female kidnap victim during a night patrol in Amaokpala, Aguata Local Government Area of Anambra State.
The spokesperson of the Anambra State Police Command, DSP Tochukwu Ikenga, said the operatives were on a routine visibility patrol when they encountered a group of armed men and engaged them in a gun battle. One of the suspects was fatally wounded during the exchange, while others fled the scene.
He added that the operatives successfully rescued the kidnap victim and recovered arms, ammunition, and other incriminating items, including a vehicle believed to have been used by the suspects.
The body of the deceased suspect has been deposited in the morgue, while the rescued victim has received medical attention and is expected to reunite with her family soon.
Commissioner of Police, CP Ikioye Orutugu, commended the gallant officers and reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to maintaining security and flushing out criminal elements from the state.
