KANO PARTNERS UNESCO, KOREA TO BOOST SKILLS TRAINING……….

By: Safiya Abdulrahim Dabban

Kano State is strengthening its technical and vocational education system through a partnership with UNESCO and the Republic of Korea under the Better Education for Africa’s Rise (BEAR III) Project.

The State Commissioner for Education, Dr. Ali Haruna Makoda, said the initiative aligns with the government’s plan to equip young people with practical skills for jobs, innovation, and self-reliance.

The project will support technical colleges in Kano with training, career guidance, and stronger apprenticeship systems, especially in agriculture and technology. Officials from the Federal Ministry of Education and the National Board for Technical Education also pledged support, emphasizing the role of TVET in boosting economic opportunities for youth.
