SHETTIMA HEADS TO NEW YORK FOR UN GENERAL ASSEMBLY

Vice President Kashim Shettima has departed Abuja for New York to attend the 80th Session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).
Standing in for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Vice President will deliver Nigeria’s national statement and join other world leaders in the high-level general debates.
In addition, Senator Shettima will unveil Nigeria’s new Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) under the Paris Climate Agreement during a special UN climate event.
The week-long UNGA session is scheduled from Monday, September 22 to Sunday, September 28, 2025.
