PRESIDENT TINUBU MOURNS VICTIMS OF IBAJI BOAT TRAGEDY
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has commiserated with the government and people of Kogi State following the tragic boat accident in Ibaji Local Government that claimed several lives.
The President described the incident as heartbreaking and deeply unfortunate, noting that the victims were traders simply striving to earn a decent living on their way to Ilushi market in Edo State. He said the news of their passing was both shocking and saddening.
While applauding the swift response of first rescuers at the scene, President Tinubu urged federal, state, and local emergency agencies to intensify efforts in supporting survivors and providing relief to the families affected. He also reminded boat operators to always prioritize the safety of passengers over profit.
President Tinubu prayed for the peaceful repose of the departed and wished the injured victims a quick recovery, assuring the people of Kogi State of the nation’s solidarity in this moment of grief.
