The First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has commissioned the new 100-bed Mother and Child Specialist Hospital in Gombe, established by the Office of the Senior Special Assistant to the President on SDGs.
Named in her honour, the ultra-modern hospital aims to improve maternal and child healthcare and reduce mortality rates. Senator Tinubu described the facility as “a symbol of life, hope, and a brighter future” for women and children, aligning with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
She appreciated Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, his wife, and the people of Gombe for their support and dedication to healthcare development. Governor Yahaya highlighted the collaboration between the Federal Government, Gombe State, and development partners as a major step toward sustainable healthcare.
Health Minister Professor Muhammad Ali Pate and SDGs Adviser Princess Adejoke Orelope-Adefulire commended the initiative, noting its contribution to achieving the UN Sustainable Development Goal 3 — good health and well-being.
