NAHCON STRENGTHENS COLLABORATION WITH KEBBI PILGRIMS BOARD

By: Safiya Abdulrahim Dabban

The Coordinator of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) Sokoto Zonal Office, Alhaji Mustapha Abbas, on Thursday, led his team on a familiarization visit to the Kebbi State Pilgrims’ Welfare Board.

The visit was part of efforts to strengthen collaboration and improve synergy between NAHCON and stakeholders involved in Hajj operations.

During the meeting, the team discussed the new policy guidelines introduced by Saudi authorities for the 2026 Hajj. A major provision in the guideline restricts each Hajj mission to a maximum of two service providers, one for services in Masha’ir and Makkah, and another for complementary arrangements.

The policy, aimed at ensuring uniformity and better coordination, also stipulates that all accommodation and catering contracts in Makkah and Madinah must be executed through the Nusuk platform by the approved service providers.

With this directive, Nigeria will engage only two service providers for the 2026 Hajj, one handling state pilgrims and the other serving private tour operators.
