The Abia State Government has begun building a modern fire service headquarters in Umuahia to create a swift emergency response network linking hospitals, ambulances, and fire units.
Governor Otti’s Senior Special Assistant on Homeland Security, Fire and Emergency Services, Mr. Chukwunenye Alajemba, said the new facility will replace the old fire station and include space for 10 fire trucks, a mini medical clinic, and a high-tech communication and dispatch center.
He urged residents to support the governor’s safety efforts by using certified fire extinguishers in homes and businesses. Alajemba expressed confidence that Abia will soon boast one of Nigeria’s most efficient emergency systems.
