ICPC, PENCOM TEAM UP TO FIGHT PENSION FRAUD

The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) and the National Pension Commission (PenCom) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to tackle pension fraud and promote transparency in pension management.

ICPC Chairman, Dr. Musa Aliyu, represented by the Commission’s Secretary, Mr. Clifford Oparaodu, said the partnership would restore workers’ and retirees’ confidence in the pension system and ensure compliance with the Pension Reform Act across both public and private sectors.

PenCom Director-General, Ms. Omolola Oloworaran, described the MoU as a landmark step toward strengthening integrity, accountability, and effective management of pension funds. She said the collaboration would ensure recovery of unremitted pension contributions and sanction defaulting employers.
