KANO SET FOR COUNCILLORSHIP BY-ELECTION

The Kano State Independent Electoral Commission (KANSIEC) says it is ready to conduct a bye-election to fill two vacant councillorship seats.
Chairman Professor Sani Lawal Malumfashi revealed in a statement that the election follows the death of councillors representing Kofar Mazugal Ward (Dala LGA) and Matan Fada Ward (Ghari LGA).
The poll is tentatively slated for December 13, 2025. Malumfashi assured that all arrangements are in place for a smooth and credible process, urging political parties and community leaders to support peaceful conduct.
