The Federal Government has launched the National Council on Livestock Development to drive major reforms and expand the livestock sector from $32bn to $74bn within five years.
Minister Idi Mukhtar Maiha said the new strategy is attracting strong global and local investment in dairy, beef, fodder and ranching systems. He noted progress including new pasture species, upgraded labs, increased vaccine production and the commissioning of modern livestock communities like the Wase Livestock Village.
Governor Ahmadu Fintiri reaffirmed Adamawa’s commitment to livestock development and called for more federal support. Lawmakers pledged full legislative backing to strengthen value chains and ranching reforms.
