The Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar, has urged Nigerians to embrace peace and seek knowledge, calling them the true foundations of a stable and progressive society. Speaking at the graduation of 432 students of Ahmad Asha School of Arabic and Islamic Studies in Kaura Namoda, he said ignorance fuels many societal problems, while education promotes unity and responsible conduct.
He stressed that Islam forbids taking the law into one’s hands and that a knowledgeable person would never resort to violence. The Sultan described peace and education as inseparable, praising the students’ debates and encouraging parents, teachers, and leaders to keep supporting Qur’anic learning.
He also pledged scholarships for 20 students and announced cash gifts for Qur’an memorizers and debate participants. The Zamfara State Government also donated funds to support the school’s growth.
