By: Safiya Abdulrahim Dabban

President Bola Tinubu on Thursday received Letters of Credence from 17 ambassadors and four high commissioners, reaffirming Nigeria’s readiness to strengthen global partnerships for peace, security and development.

Welcoming the new diplomats at the State House, Abuja, the President said Nigeria remains committed to collaboration that promotes stability and prosperity across borders. He encouraged the envoys to work closely with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, assuring them of his open-door policy.

Tinubu highlighted his administration’s focus on democratic consolidation, economic reforms and creating better conditions for investment and innovation. He called for deeper cooperation in trade, energy, education, technology, agriculture and cultural exchange.

Speaking on behalf of the diplomats, the Ambassador of Japan, Suzuki Hideo, praised President Tinubu’s reform efforts and Nigeria’s leadership role in ECOWAS and Africa, describing the country as a beacon of resilience and promise.
