The Dahiru Mangal Foundation has provided medical care to over 21,000 vulnerable patients in Katsina State, covering bills worth more than N257 million over the past decade.
Alhaji Hassan Kabir, a member of the foundation’s Board of Trustees, revealed this during a patient screening for eye treatments from all 34 local government areas. He noted that the foundation has treated 17,000 patients with eye conditions, 3,000 with urinary tract infections, and 1,000 for hernia and hydrocele. All services, including examinations, treatments, medications, counseling, and surgeries, are fully funded.
Kabir emphasized that the foundation engages top medical teams and uses quality equipment to ease the financial burden of healthcare on vulnerable families. Since its establishment in 2016, the foundation has also extended support to patients from neighboring states and Niger Republic, while investing in education and economic empowerment programs.
Ophthalmic nurse Ibrahim Lawal praised the foundation’s outreach for offering relief to families in need, urging other foundations, corporates, and philanthropists to support healthcare and education for the less privileged.
