BALA MOHAMMED REJECTS PRESSURE TO SWITCH PARTIES
By: Safiya Abdulrahim Dabban
Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State has firmly stated that no pressure or political maneuvering will make him leave the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC). His comments come in the wake of the arrest and prosecution of the State Commissioner of Finance, Yakubu Adamu, by the EFCC over alleged money laundering and terrorism-related offences.
Speaking after receiving ambassadorial awards for safety and management at the Government House in Bauchi, Governor Bala expressed disappointment over his name being mentioned in court proceedings despite enjoying constitutionally guaranteed immunity. He described attempts to associate his administration with the case as unfair and politically motivated, aimed at intimidation rather than justice.
The governor emphasized that his administration remains focused on governance, highlighting the progress made in infrastructure, security, and social development across Bauchi State. He assured residents that political distractions would not deter his government from pursuing peace, development, and stability for all citizens.
