INDIA BLOCKS OSCAR-NOMINATED GAZA FILM

India has stopped the release of The Voice of Hind Rajab, an Oscar-nominated film on the killing of a young Palestinian girl in Gaza.
The film, directed by Kaouther Ben Hania, tells the story of Hind Rajab during the Israel-Hamas war. Its distributor said the decision followed concerns it could affect India’s ties with Israel.
The move has sparked criticism, with Shashi Tharoor describing the ban as a blow to freedom of expression in a democracy.
Despite the restriction, the film has been screened internationally and received global recognition, including an Oscar nomination.
