GUNMEN ATTACK PASSENGERS BUS IN ONDO, KIDNAP TRAVELLERS                                                                                                                    27-05-24

By Sadiq Aminu                                                              The Ondo State Police Command has confirmed a report of unknown gunmen attacked a passengers bus and kidnapped unspecified number of travellers on Ikare- Irun Akoko -Ado Ekiti highway in the state.

Africa 247 gathered that the incident occured at Oyinmo farm camp, along Irun Akoko/ Imesi Ekiti axis of Ekiti y yesterday’s evening.

It was learnt that the abducted victims were from Irun akoko, Ikare akoko and Ekiti communities.

A source at Irun Akoko told newsmen that Police men, Soldiers and Amotekun Corps officers from Ekiti and Ondo states with the cooperation of  Local Vigilantes were currently combing the forests to rescue the victims.

Confirming the incident, the Spokesperson of the Ondo State command of the Nigeria Police, Mrs Funmi Odunlami-Omisanya said police was on top of the situation, though she could not confirm number of those kidnapped as at the time of filing in this report.
