CHIEF OF ARMY STAFF TASKS OFFICERS ON CREATIVITY AND INNOVATION TOWARDS TACKLING SECURITY CHALLENGES                                                                                        07-06-24

By Sadiq Aminu                                                                  The Chief of Army Staff, Lt General Taoheed Lagbaja has charged warrant officers and senior non-commissioned officers to be innovative and creative in the march against security challenges in the country.

He gave the charge during the graduation ceremony of students of course 43/2024 of the Warrant Officers Academy, held at the Jaji Military Cantonment in Kaduna State.

Represented by the General Officer Commanding One Division Kaduna, Major General Landers Saraso, the Army Chief noted that the role played by the Academy has been critical, especially at a time when Nigeria was faced with myriads of security challenges.

He stressed the need for the graduands to continue to play the role of bridging the communication gap between the officers and soldiers cadre, so as to achieve a better operational output in the field.

Lt General Lagbaja encouraged the graduands to remain committed towards ensuring the high standards achieved over the years are maintained and improved upon.

Earlier in his welcome address, Commandant of the Warrant Officers Academy, Brigadier General Auwal Mahmuda explained that the warrant officers course was designed to enhance the capacity of the warrant officers and senior non-commissioned officers.

He equally charged them to effectively apply the knowledge and skills acquired in their various day to day endeavours in the service to the nation.

A total of eighty warrant officers and senior non-commissioned officers, comprising four Nigerian Airforce personnel and an allied candidate from Liberia, graduated after undergoing a twenty-two week intensive course.

Highpoint of the event was the unveiling of a book authored by an instructor in the Academy, Staff Sergeant Ishaku Ibrahim.
