FRSC COMMENCES OPERATION “KARARA” TO CHECK TRAFFIC VIOLATIONS                                                                                                   03-09-24

By Sadiq Aminu                                                               The Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC has commenced a 30 day special operation to check traffic violations by motorists in the federal capital territory, FCT.

FCT Sector commander, Muta’a Chorrie while addressing the operatives at the sector command in Abuja said the special exercise, “Operation KARARA” would also check the excesses of motorists to Traffic rules especially commercial drivers and bring sanity on roads in the Six area Councils of the FCT.

Mr muta’a said necessary logistics including additional 200 personnel, 15 patrol vehicles, 10 motor bikes and Four towing vehicles have been provided by the FRSC headquarters to ensure strict enforcement.

Mr Muta’a said the operation which kicks off today Monday 2nd September to the end of this month would be carried out by the Traffic Enforcement and Control unit of the Corps

On the Corps Marshal’s directive on transportation of inflammable products, the sector commander maintained that sensitization campaigns had been carried to major motor parks, Religious centers and public places on the dangers of carrying petroleum products with passangers.

According to him, all unit commanders have been directed to ensure that no vehicle is allowed to carry inflammable products in the territory.

He urged road users to abide by this directive as the Corps would not allow unruly driving culture in the territory.

The FRSC FCT Sector commander, however, gave an assurance that the Corps would do everything within the law and provide effective traffic management for socio-economic activities in the territory.
