ANAMBRA STATE COMMISSIONER FOR INFORMATION EXPRESSES DISSATISFACTION WITH UNDERREPORTING THE ADMINISTRATION’S PROGRAMMER                                                                                          19-09-24

By Sadiq Aminu                                                                The new Commissioner for Information in Anambra state,Dr. Law Mefor has expressed dissatisfaction with what he termed as underreporting of the laudable achievements of Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s administration.

He explained that the governor in less than three years of his administration had performed tremendously well in all sectors of the economy.

Speaking during a meeting with members of Correspondents Chapel in his office, Dr Mefor highlighted numerous giant strides of the current government, including road infrastructure.

He pointed out that the state government had a solid blueprint for the state’s growth and believed that Soludo’s achievements had not been fully presented before the members of the public.

According to him,the State government within two years, has awarded over four hundred roads and completed more than two hundred and fifty of them, yet without borrowing.

Dr Mefor was of the opinion that the governor’s reputation had global recognition and the State government would leverage on that to attract investment and development for the state.

The Commissioner who insisted that he would publicize Mr Governor’s efforts to showcase the state’s potential, including embarking on project tours, emphasized that the media would be his co-traveler in that regard.

Dr Mefor however, called for collaboration with the Chapel to ensure a robust, fair and full reportage of the state.

Responding, the Chairman of Correspondents’ Chapel, Mr Chuks Ilozue, represented by his vice, Mrs Nkiru Nwagbo, congratulated the Commissioner on his new appointment and assured him of robust collaboration .

Africa247 Correspondent reports that other executive members of the Chapel were also in attendance during the event.
