HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES PASS N288B FCTA SUPPLEMENTARY BUDGET                                                                                            26-09-24

By Sadiq Aminu                                                               The House of Representatives has passed the N288 billion Supplementary budget for Federal Capital Territory Administration, FCTA.
The Passage of the Supplementary Budget followed deliberation and consideration by the Committee of whole after receiving report from the Committee on Federal Capital Territory.
The Chairman, House Committee on FCT, Mr. Aliyu Betara, submitted the Committee’s report after the Budget defence.
Mr. Betara said during the Joint Committee meeting with the Senate, the Committee emphasized the significant of the passage of the budget to the development of the nation’s capital.
Significant allocation of the Budget aimed to enhance the development and infrastructure of the Territory.
The approved budget allocates N31.1 billion for overhead costs, covering operational expenses, and N256.9 billion for capital projects.
These projects will focus on upgrading critical infrastructure, including roads, transportation systems, healthcare facilities, education, and utility services.
The Speaker, House of Representatives Dr Tajudeen Abbas, said the approved budget would be sent to the Senate for further consideration and eventual assent by the President.
