WHO TO PROVIDE A MOBILE CLINIC AND DRUGS FOR FLOOD VICTIMS IN OGBARU LGA                                                                   11-11-24

By Sadiq Aminu                                                               The World Health Organization, WHO says it will support Anambra state government by providing a mobile clinic and drugs for flood victims in Ogbaru local government area.

The Zonal Cordinator of World Health Organization, Doctor Chukwumuanya Igboekwu made the pledge when he visited holding camps for flood victims in Ogbaru, Ogbaru local government area.

According to him, the mobile clinic would also offer free medical services to the victims within the period of their stay in the camps.

Doctor Igboekwu commended the Anambra state government under Governor Chukwuma Soludo for making necessary provisions towards ensuring that the people affected by the 2024 flooding had a place to stay while waiting for the water to rescind.

The Wife of the governor, Mrs Nonye Soludo while describing the natural disaster as a very devastating situation and enjoined the victims to be calm as efforts were being made by government to attend to their needs.

Mrs Soludo while presenting several food and cash items to the victims, appealed to wealthy individuals in the society and the Federal Government to continue to provide assistance to the people no matter how little it could be.

She also called on the volunteers and stakehders to ensure that hygiene was maintained at all times while the people look foward to go back to their homes after a short-time.

Receiving the food items and cash donation , the camp attendants and stakeholders in Ogbaru local government area promised that they would be equitably distributed to the victims .

Some of the victims narrated that they were in urgent need of attention as they were not finding it cossy being confined in the holding camps.

Affica247 correspondent reports that items donated included bags of rice, beans, garri, sanitary products, beverages and undisclosed some of money.
