CBN DISENGAGEMENT: STAFF RESIGN VOLUNTARY- CBN GOVERNOR                                                                                                  04-01-25

By Sadiq Aminu                                                                 The Central Bank of Nigeria CBN says non of its Staff has been forced to quit the Bank but voluntary disengagement with payment of full benefits.
The Governor of CBN Mr. Olayemi Cardoso disclosed this during the resumed investigative hearing to probe the disengagement of the 1000 workers and how the N50 billion terminal benefits was arrived at for the disengaged staff.

Mr. Cardoso said the apex bank’s staff who left in December initiated their voluntary disengagement with payment of full benefits.
The CBN Governor who was represented by the Deputy Director Corporate Service, Mr. Bala Bello explained that the issue of the Early Exit Program and the Restructuring as well as Reorganization was to optimize the Bank for enhanced efficiency.

He reiterated that the 1,000 members of staff who were disengaged were not forced to quit.
Speaking earlier, Chairman of the Ad-hoc Committee, Mr. Usman Kumo, who assured that the Ad-hoc Committee will be fair to all the parties involved in the investigation, noted that the Committee’s responsibility is to submit the report to the House.
Mr. Kumo, who demanded from the CBN to brief the committee the objectives of the Restructuring, Reorganizing and the Early Exit Program, explained that 10th National Assembly, understood that CBN was implementing the Restructuring, Reorganizing and the Early Exit Program.
