FEDERAL GOVERNMENT EXPRESSES COMMITMENT TO MAKE BUSINESSES TO  THRIVE PARTICULARLY ON THE EASE OF DOING BUSINESS                                                                                       12-03-25

By Sadiq Aminu                                                      The Federal government has expressed commitment to make businesses to thrive particularly on the ease of doing business.

The Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Dr.Jumoke ODUWOLE stated this at the NEPC HER SHOWCASE 2025 held in Abuja.

The Nigerian Export Promotion Council HER SHOWCASE 2025 held in collaboration with the International Trade Centre under the UK government funded commonwealth+project was fashioned to celebrate extraordinary contributions of women entrepreneurs in the non oil export and explore new opportunities for growth and collaboration.

The Minster of Industry, trade and Investment Dr. JUMOKE ODUWOLE who said the government was working to make Nigeria a continuously improved business climate, stressed the need to expand trade opportunities for women.

“You can earn foreign exchange right from here. You can use digital trade tools You can use our digital public infrastructure,which ever country, which ever barrier ,what you think it will take, all you need is to get organise and we make the case for you.”

The Executive Director, Nigerian Export Promotion Council, Mrs NONYE AYENI underscored the pivotal role of women in national development and emphasized the need for women led businesses to transcend beyond geographical and physical boundaries to achieve global success

“”For us as women, as we embark on this journey of discovery and growth, we remain steadfast ina commitment to achieve excellence , innovation and inclusivity.By working together, and embracing the spirit of collaboration we can ensure that Nigeria led businesses continue to shine”

Mrs. AYENI commended the collaboration between the council and the International Trade Centre which she noted had helped her over five thousand women to benefit from their various empowerment programmes

The British Deputy High Commissioner
to Nigeria Gill Oliver said the United Kingdom was committed to collaborate with key Institutions to strengthen bilateral ties.
“Mutual economic growth is important to our country. If women in trade are unleashed, we can diversify our economy away from oil and achieve a great leap forward . Women in politics are more evident , more women need to come together to increase the country Gross domestic product from 10 to 20,%”

The event which has the theme ” Trade beyond borders featured exhibition of goods and services and provide a forum for the women led businesses to engage with potential buyers.
