The explosion was caused by an articulated vehicle conveying gas product which somersaulted as the driver was trying to ascend the link road to Lagos – Ibadan Expressway by Otedola Bridge.

After the vehicle somersaulted, the entire content of gas was spilled on the road thereby causing devastating fire.
Two human bodies were recovered last night while a total of four buildings, fourteen vehicles including motorcycles and unspecified number of shops and household property were destroyed by the fire.
