GOVERNOR CALEB INAUGURATES A TEN-MAN COMMITTEE TO ASCERTAIN THE NUMBER OF COMMUNITIES ATTACKED FROM 2005 TO DATE IN PLATEAU STATE                                                                                                         20-05-25

By Sadiq Aminu                                                       A ten man fact finding committee has been inaugurated to ascertain the number of communities attacked from 2005 to date in plateau state.

Also as part of the committee’s mandate is establishing the routes used by assailants to carry out their nefarous activities and recommend solutions to government.

The Event was held at the Twin Theatre Government House, Little Rayfield, Jos

For over two decades, communities in plateau state have come under series of attacks that have killed many and destroyed homes, farmlands and property.

It is with a view to finding lasting solution to this recurring incidences that Governor Caleb Mutfwang constituted the Fact Finding Committee with a mission to unravel circumstances behind such Incessant attacks.

Inaugurating the Committee, the Governor who underscored the importance of the State in the development of many sectors of the country’s economy, stressed the need for it to be properly safeguarded

He however observed that over the years, the State had been plagued by insecurity with many Committees of inquiry constituted without any feasible outcome.

Mutfwang frowned at the constant negative reportage of the state in the media, said the job of the committee will change the narrative for good.

Earlier, Secretary to the Government of the State, Samuel Jatau maintained the committee members were people of integrity, carefully selected and tasked with finding out the remote and immediate causes of all forms of crisis and attacks in the State.

Persons selected to serve in the committee are all non-indigenes with the exception of its Secretary Barrister Timothy Parlong.
