REPS COMMENCES INVESTIGATION INTO FG CNG POLICY IMPLEMENTATION

‎             By Sadiq Aminu                                                       The House of Representatives has commenced investigation into the implementation of the Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) Policy in the country.
‎ At the Inauguration of the Ad-hoc Committee on the implementation of the Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) Policy, in Abuja the Chairman of the Committee Ahmadu Jaha said the committee will assess the safety, viability and sustainability of the CNG policy in Nigeria
‎ According to Jaha, the committee would ensure that the Executive Arm of Government establish CNG centres equitably across the country to give all Nigerians a sense of belonging;
‎ The chairman said that the committee is to engage relevant agencies of government, International Oil Companies (IOCs) and other organisations to ensure that the nation’s policy on CNG meets global best practices.
‎ He said that the committee is also to determine the adequacy of existing regulatory and legal frameworks governing the implementation of the CNG policy and recommend appropriate legislative measures.
‎ Mr. Jaha  said that he was grateful to the leadership of the house for the composition of the committee saying that it is made up of very experienced, active and hardworking lawmakers.
