SENATE CLARIFIES N210 TRILLION AUDIT REPORT – DEMANDS NNPCL BOSS’S APPEARANCE………

The Senate has clarified that the N210 trillion flagged in audit reports from 2017–2023 was unaccounted for by the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Ltd (NNPCL), not stolen.
Led by Senator Aliyu Wadada, the Public Accounts Committee insists that NNPCL’s Group CEO, Mr. Bayo Ojulari, must personally appear to explain the financial discrepancies.
Ojulari missed a scheduled hearing on July 10, citing an OPEC meeting in Vienna. The committee refused to accept a presentation from the CFO, Mr. Dapo Segun, in his place.
Senators Abdul Ningi and Adams Oshiomhole criticized Ojulari’s repeated absence, stressing that no public officer is above accountability. They warned that continued non-appearance could lead to more serious consequences.
Senator Wadada emphasized that the Senate seeks transparency, not targeting individuals:
“We never said the money was stolen — but it must be accounted for.”
A new date for Ojulari’s appearance will be communicated soon.
