NATIONAL GREEN ECONOMY SUMMIT HOLDS OCTOBER 24TH, 25TH IN MINNA

Niger State Government has concluded arrangements to host National Green Economy Summit slated for 24th and 25th October, 2023 in Minna.
A statement issued by Secretary to the Government of Niger State (SSG), Alhaji Abubakar Usman disclosed that the Summit is aimed at repositioning the State for sustainable socio-economic development as well as the Green Investment Hub of the country.
According to the SSG, “the Summit which will coincide with the United Nations Day for climate advocacy and International Day for Climate Action, will also underscore the resolve to partake in achieving collective global goals through responsible local action”.
The SSG further explained that the summit will also bring together policymakers, industry leaders, academia, local and international sector experts, non-governmental organizations, international development partners, investors, local communities and other relevant stakeholders to pave the way for an inclusive green economy and a sustainable future for the State and the country as a whole.
The theme of the Summit which is “Harnessing Green Assets and Innovation for Niger State’s Prosperity” will unlock the State’s Green Economy potential and achieve prosperity for the people of the State, the statement stressed.
Alhaji Usman further revealed that the Niger State Green Economy Summit will provide concrete actions that will lead to a greener, more sustainable, and prosperous future for the State and the citizenry.
