GOVERNOR LAWAL LAUNCHES ZAMFARA STATE DEVELOPMENT PLAN 2025–2034

By: Safiya Abdulrahim Dabban

Governor Dauda Lawal has unveiled the Zamfara State Development Plan 2025–2034, a long-term roadmap aimed at transforming the state into a model of peace, prosperity, and productivity.

At the launch in Gusau, the Governor described the plan as evidence-driven and globally aligned, reflecting the aspirations of the people. It focuses on six key areas: economy, infrastructure, social welfare, human capital, governance, and environmental sustainability.

Lawal emphasized that the plan leverages Zamfara’s agricultural and mineral resources, promotes innovation, strengthens governance, and supports small businesses to create jobs, boost food security, and reduce poverty-driven insecurity. Partnerships with institutions like the African Development Bank will enhance mechanized farming, agro-processing, and value-chain development.

He also pledged transparent management of the solid minerals sector, with community participation and environmental protection. Lawal called on citizens, investors, and international partners to collaborate in achieving the state’s vision of sustainable development and shared prosperity.
