The Federal University of Technology (FUT), Minna, is set to confer First Class degrees on 111 students during its 34th Convocation Ceremony, marking another milestone in the institution’s academic journey.
Speaking ahead of the event at the Gidan Kwano campus in Minna, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Faruk Adamu Kuta, said the convocation, which coincides with the university’s 43rd Founders Day celebration, will feature the graduation of students across undergraduate and postgraduate programmes for the 2024/2025 academic session.
He noted that FUT Minna continues to gain national and international recognition, having been ranked among the leading universities in Nigeria and emerging as the highest-ranked specialised university in the country in the 2026 Times Higher Education World University Rankings. According to him, the university remains committed to excellence in teaching, research, and innovation.
Prof. Kuta also announced the establishment of the College of Medical Sciences and Health Technology following approval by the National Universities Commission, with academic activities already underway. He, however, raised concerns over rising electricity costs, describing them as a major operational challenge.
The convocation ceremony will hold on Sunday, February 1, and will celebrate academic excellence, institutional growth, and the vision of the university’s founders.
