By: Safiya Abdulrahim Dabban

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Saturday said the Argungu International Fishing and Cultural Festival reflects the return of stability and normalcy in Kebbi State and the country at large. Speaking at the grand finale in Argungu, the President pledged sustained federal support for agriculture, tourism, food security and rural development.

He praised the successful organisation and security of the festival, noting that the event showcased Nigeria’s rich cultural heritage and its unifying power. Tinubu reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to supporting farmers and fishermen, stressing that collaboration with states like Kebbi would drive economic growth and food security.

Governor Nasir Idris thanked the President for his visit and restated the state’s resolve to sustain the festival as a platform for cultural preservation and economic empowerment, while the Emir of Argungu, Sama’ila Muhammad Mera, welcomed the revival of the historic festival after years of interruption.
