TINUBU URGES HOPE AS FUEL PRICE HIKE BITES HARD

By: Safiya Abdulrahim Dabban

Bola Tinubu has admitted that rising fuel prices are hitting Nigerians hard but urged citizens to stay hopeful, saying the country is still better off compared to others.

Speaking during a visit to Bayelsa State, he acknowledged the economic strain while stressing that similar challenges are being faced across Africa. He assured that his administration is working to ease the burden, especially for vulnerable Nigerians, despite global pressures affecting the economy.

Tinubu linked the hardship to international factors and ongoing reforms, including subsidy removal and currency changes, aimed at stabilizing the economy long term.

Fuel prices have recently surged past ₦1,200 per litre, worsening the cost of living for many Nigerians.
