The presidential candidate of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM), Seyi Makinde, has promised to prioritise economic stability that directly improves the living conditions of Nigerians if elected president in 2027.
Makinde made the pledge in Abuja during the unveiling of the party’s RESET Nigeria manifesto, where he outlined his economic and governance plans.
He said his administration would set clear performance targets within its first 100 days, stressing that economic reforms must translate into higher household incomes, affordable food, job creation and lower business costs.
The Oyo State governor identified poverty, weak institutions, corruption and poor accountability as major challenges facing the country.
On the economy, Makinde said his agenda would focus on reducing production costs, improving electricity supply and creating a business environment that would discourage companies from relocating to neighbouring countries.
He also proposed a transparent system for managing additional revenue from rising crude oil prices to ensure Nigerians benefit directly.
Beyond economic reforms, Makinde called for a national unity government and constitutional changes to strengthen national consensus.
His running mate, Lawal Daura, said the RESET agenda was built around four key areas: education, economy, security and the socio-political system.
