KEBBI STATE GOVERNMENT HIGHLIGHTED CORRUPT PRACTICES AND INSURBODINATION AS THE CAUSES

The Kebbi State Governor, Comrade Nasir Idris, has lifted the embargo placed on the Adolescent Girls Initiative for Learning and Empowerment (AGILE) Project in the state.

Governor Idris, made the pronoucement following a meeting with representatives from the national team led by the National Project Coordinator, Hajiya Amina Buba Haruna whom were in the state for a week visit with a view to resolving the challenges on the project in the state.

The Governor, highlighted corrupt practices and insubordination as the causes that led to the suspension of some officers and closure of the project office in the state.

“I assured you that, anyone found wanting in squandering public resources will be meted with grieve consequences”. I insisted that no project in the state would suffer setback or be allowed to squander resources and public funds.

Governor Idris, reemphasised that, project design in all interventions must fall in line with the needs of the state and beneficiaries.

He however directed for the immediate resumption of the project implementation with Aliyu Muhammad BK and Engineer Shehu Halilu as the new State Coordinator and Component 1 Lead respectively, while all other project staff remain.

The National Project Coordinator of AGILE, Hajiya Amina Buba Haruna, appreciated the governor for the quick action and assures him that her team would remain in the state until the project is back to order.
