STOP NEGLECTING THE ETHICS OF RAISING HOUSEHOLD- YAYALE AHMED                                                       09-02-24

By Sadiq Aminu                                                     The national Chairman Arewa New Agenda and former Secretary to the government of the federation Alh Yayale Ahmed, has urged Nigerians to stop neglecting the basic ethics of raising households.

Yayale Ahmed was speaking during a conference on tackling poverty in northern Nigeria, organized by the Arewa New Agenda at the International Conference Center Abuja.

He observed that Nigerian homes should be institutions of producing patriotic and hardworking youths for the betterment of the country.

“At the beginning of life, there always must be affirmative action to mold the character of young people, to know what they should do when they grow up and contribute their quota.

The former SGS said if these issues are not addressed urgently, poverty alleviation programs would never be successful in Nigeria.

The Convener Arewa New Agenda Senator Ahmad Abubakar, explained that the association is a forum that is striving to provide solutions to the challenges facing the north and by extension the country in general.

Senator Abubakar said the conference is a follow up to a previous one held, where issues bedeviling the north were raised.

This according to him included poverty, illiteracy, ill-health, lack of understanding between key religious and ethnic groups, laziness and complete lack of confidence.

He urged the federal government to review the border closure with Niger Republic, as it has negative implications for the economy of states in the North.

Papers were presented on exploring alternative approaches to mitigating poverty in Northern Nigeria as well as ending poverty through productivity inclusion.
