APC PROFESSIONALS WANTS STATES TO UTILIZE THEIR INCREASED ALLOCATION                                                                                                               01-03-24

By Sadiq Aminu                                                       The All Progressives Congress professionals forum has urged to channel large portion of their increased federal allocation to food production in their respective states.

The Chairman of the forum and former governor of Bauchi State Dr Isa Yuguda, made the call at a press conference in Abuja on the state of the nation under President Bola Tinubu administration.

This he said should also include transportation and other intervention purposes to ameliorate the condition of the people.

According to him, the decision to discontinue fuel subsidy has since June 2023, led to a quantum increase in monthly allocations from the federation account with states and local governments getting almost seventy percent more than they were receiving before.

Dr Yuguda however, said despite this, only a handful of states have introduced meaningful measures to cushion the effects of subsidy removal.

The Chaiman of the forum passed a vote of confidence on the Tinubu led administration in the areas of reducing burden on Nigerians, cost cutting measures, intervention in agriculture as well as unification of exchange rates.
