By Sadiq Aminu                                                      The Minister of Interior Dr. Olubunmi Tunji Ojor has called on the Correctional Service Officers and Men to be disciplined, patriotic and diligent in the discharge of their assigned duties even in the light of the prevailing Security Challenges confronting the Country.

The Minister made the call during the passing out parade of the thirtieth, 30th Assistant Superintendent of Corrections, ASC Basic Course International at the Correctional Service Staff College, Barnawa, kaduna.

Represented by the immediate past Controller General of Corrections, Alh. Ahmed Ja’afaru, the minister was optimistic that the basic course has prepared them to discharge their responsibilities inline with the Nigerian Correctional Service Act, 2019.

Mr. Olubunmi Tunji said, their commitment would be required as the country has put in place Concerted Effort through the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Ahmed Bola Tinubu to address the challenges of insecurity bedeviling the Nation.

The Minister assured that, the ministry of interior in conjunction with Civil Defense, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board would put in place measures for smooth administration of the service through promoting the welfare of Correctional Service Officers and that of inmates across the Nation’s Custodial Centers.

He, however pointed out that, any act of indiscipline, trafficking, disloyalty and disobedient to constituted authority, or insubordination would not be tolerated.

A total of two hundred and forty, 240 with five officers from the Gambian Prison Service passed out from the Six month Basic Course at the Correctional Service Staff College, Barnawa – Kaduna.
