The fire which started at about three a:m, in the morning, gutted the motorcycles and bicycles section of the market.

Speaking to Africa 247  in Sokoto state, the chairman of Motorcycles Marketers Association, Shehu Muhammad, said they could not quantify the number of motorcycles burnt by the fire because it was still raging.

Africa 247 also gathered that the federal and state fire services are still battling, to quench the fire as at the time of writing this report.

The chairman appealed to the state government to come to the aid of those who lost their property during the inferno.
