GOV. KEFAS CUTS 50% TUITION FEES FOR FINAL YEAR STUDENTS, VOWS TO END INSECURITY                                                                                                    21-09-23                           By Sadiq Aminu                                                         Taraba State government says the security of lives and property of the citizens remains one of its key priorities.

The State Commissioner for Information and Reorientation, Barrister Zainab Usman Jalingo aired this pronouncement in an interview with newsmen in Jalingo during the governor’s visit to various security formations in the state.

Jalingo who described security as paramount to any serious government, said ” His Excellency Dr. Agbu Kefas is up and doing to in ensuring that Tarabans sleep with their eyes closed, and we are by his side.”

Governor Agbu’s visit to the security formations in the state aimed to boost their morales to enable them to discharge their constitutional responsibilities.

Places visited comprise the State Command of the DSS, Police, 6 Brigade of the Nigerian Army, NSCDC, Nigeria Immigration Service, and the Nigeria Correctional Service.

However, the governor has also visited the proposed site for the New Government House at Gonna where road construction is ongoing, as well as the Taraba State College of Nursing and Midwifery Jalingo.

In another development, Barrister Zainab Usman Jalingo in a statement announced that Governor Agbu Kefas has approved the reduction in Tuition Fees for the final year students of the College of Nursing and Midwifery Jalingo by fifty percent (50%).

She said all students pursuing their Nursing and Midwifery Diplomas will benefit from the gesture with immediate effect.

“This decision aims at alleviating the financial burden on students and their families, ensuring that quality education remains affordable and accessible to all.

Dr.Agbu Kefas stated, “Education is the bedrock of our society, and we are dedicated to providing opportunities for our students to excel without the undue burden of high tuition costs. We believe that this reduction will not only support our students but also contribute to the development of the healthcare sector in our state,” says Barr. Jalingo.

According to Barrister Zainab Usman Jalingo, the Taraba State Government remains committed to enhancing the quality of education and healthcare services in the state.

“This reduction in tuition fees is a significant step towards achieving these goals,” She ended.
