CHAIRMAN OF KEBBI STATE PILGRIMS WELFARE AGENCY COMMENDS GOVERNOR NASIR TOWARDS THE AIRLIFT OF PILGRIMS TO SAUDI ARABIA                                                                                                     02-06-24

By Sadiq Aminu                                                                    The Chairman of Kebbi State Pilgrims Welfare Agency, Alhaji Farouk Aliyu Yaro (Enabo), has described the passionate commitment of Governor Nasir Idris towards the airlift of pilgrims to Saudi Arabia successfull as the the first of its kind since the creation of the state.

He said, the governor had provided all the financial support to the agency besides establishing aviation fuel depot at the Sir Ahmadu Bello International Airport, Birnin Kebbi, describing the gesture as a catalyst for the flag off of Nigeria’s Hajj 2024 inaugural flight in the state.

The Chairman who made the remark while speaking to Radio Nigeria corresponding in Birnin Kebbi, said the governor’s meticulous supervision of the Agency’s activities made the board provide standard services to the pilgrims besides the the luxurious accommodation and mouth watering dishes made available to them while in the holy land to enable them discharge their religious rites smoothly.

Aliyu Yaro, said the consecutive airlift of eight batches of pilgrims between the 15th and the 22nd of May was achieved through tireless sleepless nights of the staff of the agency and as well compliance by the intending pilgrims to their flight schedules as they always turned out on time for screening at the camp before transporting them to the airport for departure.

The Chairman disclosed that, the last batch of the pilgrims to be airlifted were expected to report to Hajj Camp on Wednesday the 5th of June preparatory to their take off on the 6th of June, adding that most of the intending pilgrims were government officials and staff of the agency.

He therefore urged all intending pilgrims of the flight to ensure early arrival at the camp for screening as the flight would be the last to avoid putting unnecessary burden on government, the agency and the flight operators at the time when solutions to hajj related problems would be too late.
